Janana De Malucho Textile Mills Limited has announced the resumption of operations with effect from February 26, 2026. The listed company, engaged in the manufacture and sale of yarn, shared the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday. “We are pleased to inform that the company’s management has decided to resume its production activities with effect from 26-02-2026,” read the notice. The company shared that the decision has been taken in view of the improvement in market conditions and “mitigating measures taken by the management with the objective of sustainable operations, enabling the company to recommence its operations”. “Also, the management will continue to monitor the situation for future course of action depending upon stability of the aforementioned factors,” it added. JDMT was established in 1960 as a public limited company. It commenced commercial production three years later in 1963. The company manufactures and sells yarn at its textile unit in Kohat, Peshawar. Earlier, the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) , one of the country’s largest industrial bodies, on Wednesday urged the government to immediately engage with the United States to secure preferential market access for Pakistan’s textile exports. APTMA said that Pakistan’s textile sector, the main contributor to the country’s exports, remains under severe stress due to high energy and input costs, interest rates, and taxes in the region, and an overall difficult business environment. The country’s textile sector exports registered a growth of 1.25% during the first seven months (July-January) of the 2025-26 financial year, reaching $10.904 billion, compared to $10.777 billion in the same period of 2024-25.
