In the previous year, 132 TBE cases were treated in hospitals in Austria. This represents a decrease compared to the strong TBE year 2024 with 158 cases, reported the Association of Vaccine Manufacturers (ÖVIH) in a press release on Thursday. The 2025 season was within the "typical annual fluctuations," explained the Center for Virology at the MedUni Vienna currently on its website. The most cases, namely 53, were registered by far in Upper Austria.
