ILOILO CITY — More than 233,000 learners have been affected by class suspensions as Mt. Kanlaon showed signs of increased activity with recent episodes of moderate eruption, according to the Department of Education (DepEd). In its situation report as of 5 p.m. on Feb. 27, DepEd said 233,528 learners and 10,076 personnel in 465 public schools across six divisions in the Negros Island Region (NIR) were affected by the ongoing volcanic activity.
