"Children and families in Gaza City were seen enjoying the famous 'Spark Wire' entertainment, during the daily Iftar evening meal to break the Ramadan fast. Footage shows people whirling the 'spark wire' - a type of steel wool that creates a shower of sparks when spun at speed. It was organised by the 'Ard Al-Mushtal; team to spread joy and revive the spirit of the holy month after years of war. "It's a game we've been playing for a long time, and through it, we try to entertain ourselves and the children because they love this atmosphere," said one of the performers, Amal Abu Nada. "We try to show the world what the Israeli army have done to us. They destroyed the neighbourhoods. Those were [previously] eight towers that brought a different atmosphere during Ramadan and Eid, unlike any other in Gaza," she added. "We try to find joy in everything we have," said Rafiq Al-Kahlout, who works as a clown. "The children of Gaza have witnessed the impossible in wars - destruction, bombing, shelters, death, trucks, blood, and everything... We light up the place with it and send our message to the world that we want to be happy after everything we’ve seen in the war." Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar and considered one of the holiest months for Muslims. During Ramadan, fasting is observed from dawn until sunset, and it is one of the five pillars of Islam. "
