Pak-Afghan conflict: Tehran offers to facilitate talks

KARACHI: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, on Friday urged Afghanistan and Pakistan to exercise restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue, offering Tehran’s support to facilitate talks between the two neighbouring countries. In a post on X, Araqchi wrote: “In the holy month of Ramazan, the month of restraint and strengthening solidarity in the Islamic world, it is appropriate for Afghanistan and Pakistan to manage and resolve existing differences within the framework of good neighbourliness and through dialogue.” He further emphasized that “the Islamic Republic of Iran stands ready to provide any assistance in facilitating dialogue and strengthening understanding and cooperation between the two countries.” Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
