'Want to see something nice? Look!' - Trump shows off Venezuelan oil delivery as tanker arrives at Corpus Christi

"US President Donald Trump visited the Port of Corpus Christi on Friday, as the first shipment of Venezuelan oil arrived at the Texas facility. "Come here. Do you want to see something nice? Look at that. Right out of Venezuela," Trump told the press during his visit. Port of Corpus Christi CEO Kent Britton confirmed that the first tanker carrying Venezuelan crude had arrived at the port. Trump previously announced during Tuesday's State of the Union address that Washington has received 80 million barrels of oil from Venezuela. The visit marked his first trip to the Coastal Bend since he headlined a rally in Robstown in 2022 and stopped at the Annaville fire station in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. This comes after the US launched a military operation in Venezuela last month, targeting military bases and communications hubs before capturing then-president Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, during a raid on a safe house in Caracas. Maduro and Flores were transferred to the United States and are being held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in New York. The US has since recognised an interim government led by former Vice President Delcy Rodriguez and eased numerous sanctions to allow American oil firms, including Chevron and ExxonMobil, to resume operations in Venezuela."
