PIA suspends its flight operations to several Gulf destinations

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended its flight operations to several Gulf destinations amid the rapidly deteriorating security situation across the Middle East. According to the PIA spokesperson, the flights to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Doha, and Kuwait have been immediately suspended. The airline confirmed that these routes will not operate until tomorrow evening at the earliest or until the restoration of safe airspace in the affected region — whichever comes sooner. However Saudi Arabia-bound flights will continue but these flights have been rerouted and will take longer than usual to reach their destinations. The airline has transferred these operations to its wide-body Boeing 777 fleet, which will fly alternate, longer flight paths to safely navigate around the restricted airspace, PIA spokesperson said.
