MUZAFFARABAD: The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) imposed an immediate ban on the flying of drones for thirty days. The chief secretary of Azad Jammu and Kashmir also issued a notification in this regard. The decision was taken due to security reasons. The notification stated that flying of drones is banned in all commercial and recreational areas. A case will be filed against the person who will be found involved in violation of the ban. Earlier, the Government of Pakistan imposed a nationwide ban on flying drones, including all types of recreational and commercial drones, citing security concerns. The ban takes effect immediately and will remain in force for 60 days across all provinces. Authorities have instructed provincial administrations to strictly enforce the order, while law enforcement and intelligence agencies have been exempted. Violations of the restrictions will be punishable under Section 144 of the law and police officers (SHOs) have been authorised to register cases against offenders.
