Homes torn apart - One killed, 28 injured as Iranian rocket hits Tel Aviv neighbourhood

"A residential neighbourhood in Tel Aviv was left devastated after a rocket launched from Iran struck the area directly on Saturday night, causing casualties and widespread destruction. Footage filmed on Sunday shows a large crater outside a residential building, its facade heavily damaged by the blast. Inside one of the affected flats, shattered windows, collapsed ceilings and debris scattered across furniture illustrate the force of the explosion, leaving the apartment uninhabitable. Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service reported that 28 people were injured in the strike. According to its statement, one person was killed, two sustained moderate injuries, and 25 suffered minor wounds. All casualties were transported to Ichilov Hospital and Sheba Medical Centre for treatment. The attack came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the launch of a joint military operation with the United States, describing it as an effort to “eliminate the existential threat posed by the terrorist regime in Iran.” Iranian missiles targeted sites linked to US and Israeli operations in response. Explosions were also reported across several countries hosting US military infrastructure, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Amid the escalation, multiple countries imposed emergency aviation measures. Iran, Israel, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar and Kuwait closed their airspace, while the United Arab Emirates introduced temporary flight restrictions. The escalation follows three recent rounds of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, held in Muscat and Geneva."
