"Pakistani security forces dispersed hundreds of Pakistanis staging a protest outside the US Embassy in Islamabad on Sunday, demonstrating against the joint US–Israeli attack on Iran. Footage shows protesters gathering in large numbers, blocking a wide road in front of the embassy as gunfire can be heard in the distance. "It looks like the US has awarded itself a contract to attack sovereign countries, to bomb and kill innocent people. Yesterday they killed the Iranian supreme leader and broke the hearts of not only the Iranian people but tens of millions of other Muslims of the world," said protester Muhammad Hussain. "Syed Ali Khamenei was not only the leader of the Shia, but he was a father to us. They have killed our father, but this is my message to the world: martyrdom is our best asset," another protester stated. Earlier on Sunday, Iranian state television announced that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed in the US–Israeli strike on Tehran the previous day. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared, "This great crime will not go unpunished, and a new chapter will be recorded in the history of the Islamic world". The United States and Israel launched a joint strike on Saturday, with US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowing to 'destroy Iran's missiles.' In response, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said that 'widespread missile and drone attacks' against Israel were underway. US bases were also reportedly targeted in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq and Kuwait. "
