KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, accompanied by Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab and Inspector General of Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho, conducted a detailed visit to various areas of Karachi to review security arrangements and traffic flow across the city. During the visit, he also inspected the vicinity of the United States Consulate, where the IG Sindh briefed him on the prevailing security situation and measures taken to maintain law and order, The Sindh Home Minister expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and also mourned the loss of lives during the recent situation that emerged in Karachi. He extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. He appealed to citizens to remain peaceful and maintain calm. The home minister and the mayor also visited the Saddar area, inspecting key roads including I I Chundrigar Road and M A Jinnah Road. Market visits were also conducted where price control lists were checked, and officials directed to strictly ensure implementation of government-notified prices. Lanjar emphasised that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the government’s top priority. He directed authorities to ensure foolproof security arrangements throughout the megacity.
