189 OFWs stranded in Hong Kong amid Middle East conflict

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 189 Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) bound for the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia were stranded in Hong Kong, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said on Monday. The situation stemmed from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East following airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Iran that prompted retaliatory moves, targeting Israel and American bases across the region.
