Gold prices in Pakistan increased on Monday in line with their gain in the international market. In the local market, gold price per tola reached Rs563,862 after a gain of Rs13,300 during the day. Similarly, 10-gram gold was sold at Rs483,420 after it increased by Rs11,402, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). On Saturday , gold price per tola reached Rs550,562 after a gain of Rs10,000 during the day. The international rate of gold was up by $133 to reach $5,411 per ounce (with a premium of $20). Meanwhile, the price of silver increased by Rs188 to reach Rs10,050 per tola. Furthermore, international gold prices rose on Monday after the US and Israel launched major strikes on Iran , killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei , escalating geopolitical tensions and deepening global economic uncertainty. Spot gold was up 1.37% at $5,349.44 an ounce, as of 0439 GMT, after hitting its highest point in more than four weeks. Earlier in the session, bullion prices climbed as much as 2%.
