Commerce ministry workshop highlights counter-terrorism financing requirements in non-profit sector

RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development, organized a virtual workshop with the participation of representatives from non-profit organizations. The workshop forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen compliance with counter-terrorism financing requirements and raise awareness of related preventive measures. The workshop aimed to enhance awareness of regulatory requirements and preventive procedures and to reinforce adherence to controls associated with counter-terrorism financing, thereby contributing to safeguarding the non-profit sector and enhancing its credibility and operational sustainability. The sessions addressed several key themes, including compliance requirements, mechanisms for reporting suspicious transactions, the importance of internal control systems, targeted financial sanctions, and best practices to strengthen risk management efficiency and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
