Taxmen told to declare assets by 9th

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed all the officers/officials of Inland Revenue Service and Pakistan Customs Service to immediately submit their missing Declaration of Assets & Liabilities (period up to June 30, 2025) latest by deadline of March 9, 2026. In this regard, the FBR has issued most urgent instructions to the field formation here on Tuesday. According to the FBR, the Establishment Division has informed that the statutory requirements governing the conduct of government servants regarding the disclosure of assets in accordance with Rule 12 of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1964, stipulates as under: “(1) Every Government servant shall, at the time of entering Government service, make declaration to the Government, through the usual channel, of all immovable and movable properties including shares, certificates, securities, insurance policies and jewelry- belonging to or held by him or a member of his family. READ ALSO: NA passes amendment requiring top officials to publicly declare assets Every government servant shall submit to the government, through the usual channel an annual declaration of income, assets and expenses for the financial year, ending on 30th June, showing any increase or decrease of property as shown in the declaration under sub-rule(1) or the last annual return, as the case may be.” A consolidated report has to be furnished to the Establishment Division regarding completion of record of Declaration of Assets of all officers of FBR during the last ten years of service. In view of above, it is requested that all the officers/officials of IRS, PCS, Ex-Cadre and all concerned serving under the administrative control of field formations may be advised to submit their missing Declaration of Assets & Liabilities till the year ending on 30.06.2025 latest by 09.03.2026 positively, the FBR added.
