Meralco sees power sales recovery by Q2

MANILA, Philippines — Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) expects its power distribution business to regain strength by the second quarter as La Niña fades and as real estate recovers following the exit of Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogos). Ferdinand Geluz, Meralco senior vice-president and chief revenue officer, said increasing its power sales in the first three months of 2026 remains “a challenge” as La Niña conditions linger.
