"Former US President Bill Clinton denied knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse crimes and rejected allegations of improper conduct during closed-door testimony before the House Oversight Committee last Thursday. "Though it ended years before his crimes came to light and though I never witnessed during our limited interactions any indication of what was going on, I'm here to offer what little I know so I can do my part to prevent something like this from happening again," he said. Asked whether he had ever known about sexual abuse committed or facilitated by Ghislaine Maxwell, Clinton simply responded 'no.' He also said he did not engage in sexual activity with anyone introduced to him by Maxwell. Clinton further said he had never visited Epstein’s private island in the US Virgin Islands and denied flying on Epstein’s plane for improper reasons. The committee questioned Clinton about reported meetings with Epstein in 2002, including one at Clinton’s Harlem office and another at Epstein’s New York home. Clinton said he recalled Epstein visiting his Harlem office and described him at the time as someone who appeared prepared to support the Clinton Foundation. "I was flattered. He wanted to see my office, I liked it," Clinton said."
