"After issuing an evacuation warning Israeli strike targeted a building in Beirut's southern suburb of Haret Hreik on Wednesday, amid escalating tensions with Hezbollah and the fallout from the US-Israeli attack on Iran. Footage shows the moment the airstrikes hitting the high rise building, with thick plumes of smoke rising into the sky. Earlier on the same day, the Israeli army had issued evacuation orders for several buildings in Beirut's southern suburbs, including areas in Haret Hreik, Hadath, and Laylaki. The IDF issued a warning, saying: "To everyone present in the buildings marked in red on the map, as well as the adjacent buildings: you are near Hezbollah facilities." "For your safety and the safety of your families, residents are requested to evacuate these buildings immediately and move at least 300 meters away, as shown on the map," it added. Earlier on Monday, Israel carried out strikes on southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs, saying it comes 'in response to Hezbollah attacks'. Hezbollah, for its part, said the attacks were carried out 'in response to the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei at the end of last week'. The US and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday morning. Tehran said it was responding with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with explosions reported in countries right across the Gulf region. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead in a strike on Saturday. It comes after a number of rounds of talks between the Americans and Iranians."
