"Naval vessels were seen arriving at the port of Limassol on Wednesday after Greece dispatched two frigates and four F-16 fighter jets to Cyprus to reinforce the island’s security. Footage taken from the shore shows navy vessels sailing past the port, while jets flew overhead. The move follows Iranian drone strikes at the UK's nearby Akrotiri base amid escalating conflict between the US and Israel on the one side and Iran on the other. Among the ships deployed is the most advanced Greek frigate, Kimon, equipped with advanced radar and air-defence systems designed to counter aerial and drone threats. The second is Psara, capable of detecting UAVs at ranges up to 150 kilometres with its Centaur counter-drone system. British and French naval units are also expected to contribute to maritime patrols and counter-drone monitoring off the coast of Cyprus. The US and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday morning. Tehran said it was responding with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with explosions reported in countries right across the Gulf region. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead in a strike on Saturday. It comes after a number of rounds of talks between the Americans and Iranians."
