Samsung Electronics said Thursday its latest premium smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, has won the "Best in Show" award at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 under way in Spain. The Global Mobile Communications Association, the organizer of MWC, has granted the award to the Galaxy S26 Ultra unveiled last week for its "seamless blend" of advanced hardware and software, the Korean tech giant said in a release. Samsung recently showcased the Galaxy S26 models, with the premium Ultra edition featuring the industry's first built-in privacy display, along with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, boasting a 39 percent improvement in neural processing unit performance compared with its predecessor. "The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra stood out for pushing the boundaries of mobile technology while delivering meaningful, real-world impact," Shaun Collins, chair of the judges for the award, was quoted as saying by Samsung. "In particular, its privacy innovation addresses one of the most important needs of today's digital lifestyle, security, personal space and trust."
