MANILA, Philippines — Scientists from the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UP MSI) have identified a region in the southern Philippine Sea with strong potential for renewable ocean energy, following a deep-sea expedition that also mapped submarine volcanoes, active faults and internal wave generation zones in the Sulu and Celebes seas.
