MANILA, Philippines — A senator wants President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to have permanent powers to deal with rising oil prices amid conflicts. Sen. Chiz Escudero is calling for amendments to the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law that will empower the president to suspend or lower excise and value‑added taxes on fuel.
