"The Brazilian Navy showcased on Wednesday the modernisation of its military technology, which includes a unit dedicated to unmanned aerial systems focused on reconnaissance and precision strikes, amid recent escalations in the Middle East. Footage filmed in Rio de Janeiro shows next-generation armoured vehicles, specialised long-range weapons, precision artillery systems, and drones equipped with high-resolution cameras and the capability to operate in both urban and jungle environments. The activity took place at the headquarters of the Brazilian Navy's Naval Marine Corps, which has promoted technological modernisation programs and strategic re-equipment of its weaponry in recent years, prioritizing the incorporation of unmanned systems and cyber defense capabilities. During the exhibition, Infantry Admiral Carlos Chagas highlighted the need to strengthen national defense policy in the face of increasing international conflicts. "Brazil is a big country, a country with many natural resources, and it cannot be left unprotected. That is why it is very important that we invest in defense to face this world that is boiling," he said. Chagas also confirmed the creation of a specialised squadron for attack and defense drones, as well as the upcoming inauguration of a school dedicated to their operation and development. "We created the static squadron of attack and defence drones, we created the drone school, whose inauguration is scheduled for this month, so that we can have an even better response," he continued. Defence authorities emphasised that the objective of the arsenal is to strengthen Brazil's deterrence capacity without altering its traditional diplomatic stance of non-intervention, in line with the principles established by the Brazilian Constitution and its historical foreign policy."
