"The Diplomatic Police headquarters in central Tehran’s Ferdowsi Square now lies in ruin after a devastating US-Israeli airstrike on Monday, part of a wider aerial campaign that has levelled key security and government targets across the Iranian capital. Footage filmed on Wednesday shows the extensive damage to the building and surrounding area, with the headquarters reduced to rubble and several vehicles destroyed in the attack. “As an Iranian, I am truly sad, I am deeply sorry for those who think the world belongs to them,” local Mohammad Golai said. "If you want to control an Iranian youth, come and try to extort us. You took our leader unjustly, but the guns are still here. Each of us is a gun; we will take his revenge," he added. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei described the attack on the Diplomatic Police headquarters as a “brutal act” in a post on X, calling it “a dangerous addition to the troubling record of the United States in effectively undermining diplomacy.” The US and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday morning. Tehran said it was responding with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with explosions reported in countries right across the Gulf region. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead in a strike on Saturday. It comes after a number of rounds of talks between the US and Iran."
