Kafr Rumman attacked - Lebanese town sees huge airstrike, rescuers recover body

"Smoke from an airstrike was seen above the town of Kafr Rumman in southern Lebanon on Thursday, following evacuation warnings from the Israeli military. Footage shows rescue teams on site recovering a body and clearing debris. Local media reported that the Israeli army launched a series of strikes targeting the towns of Kafr Rumman, Toul, Harouf, and Kounine. The Emergency Operations Centre of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said in a statement on Thursday that "the toll from the Israeli aggression from dawn Monday, March 2 until midnight Wednesday, March 4 has risen to 77 martyrs and 527 wounded, and in recent hours hospitals have received more injuries and the numbers will be updated accordingly". The Israeli army said today that it continued to target “Hezbollah positions” in Lebanon, and also issued a warning to residents of the southern suburbs to “save their lives and evacuate their homes immediately.” Israel launched strikes on Lebanon on Monday, in the latest escalation of the conflict with Hezbollah - after attacking Iran together with the US on Saturday. The IDF said it was responding to Hezbollah's own attacks, which the group said were retaliation for the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei."
