"A 12,000 seat arena within Tehran's Azadi Sports Complex was destroyed amid the escalating conflict between Iran and the US and Israel. Footage filmed on Thursday shows the aftermath of the reported strike at Azadi Hall, located within the Azadi Sports Complex. Iranian media outlets said a US-Israeli airstrike hit the arena. It was also reported that the dormitory complex of the cycling federation and the federation’s new building were destroyed. Windows in nearby facilities were also damaged, including those of the Azadi Complex swimming pool and parts of the rowing federation. Earlier on Thursday, the Israeli military said it had “begun a wide-scale wave of strikes against the Iranian regime’s infrastructure across Tehran.” The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Saturday morning, while Tehran said it was responding with strikes targeting Israel and U.S. interests in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. In a related development, the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was confirmed following a strike on Saturday, after multiple rounds of talks between US and Iranian officials."
