'I feel safe...I trust my country' - Israeli citizens from Israel-Lebanon border town refuse to leave as IDF conducts ground operation

"Israeli citizens from the region bordering Lebanon voiced support for the ongoing military operation in Lebanon, as the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) expand its ground operation. "We need to destroy and root out all of Hezbollah, including in the Dahiyeh district and other places in Lebanon. Anywhere there are assets linked to Hezbollah, they must be destroyed. Both the IDF and the Lebanese government, and I hope the government in Lebanon will do its job. Without the IDF," Head Council of Metula town, David Azulay, stated. Footage shows several trucks carrying tanks aboard riding the roads of Israel's northern region. Despite living 'under rocket attacks' and the recent escalation in the Middle East, residents shared they do not plan to leave the region. "It's okay for me because I'm used to it. And it's all the time. All my life, I was in this situation," one of the locals, Rachel, said. "I feel safe. I trust my country. I trust my army. And I know that they will do whatever they can to protect me," another resident, Avia, added. On Thursday, the Israeli army declared to continue targeting 'Hezbollah positions' in Lebanon, and also issued a warning to residents of the southern suburbs to "save their lives and evacuate their homes immediately." Israel launched strikes on Lebanon on Monday, in the latest escalation of the conflict with Hezbollah, after attacking Iran together with the US on Saturday. The IDF said it was responding to Hezbollah's own attacks, which the group said were retaliation for the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The Public Health Emergency Operations Centre at the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said in a statement on Thursday that the death toll from Israeli attacks between Monday, March 2, and midnight Wednesday, March 4, had risen to 72, with 437 others wounded."
