MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau reported on Friday that the northeast monsoon, or amihan, is forecast to strengthen and bring cool winds or light rain to more areas in Luzon beginning Saturday, March 7. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said this in a Friday morning forecast, noting that currently, the amihan is only in effect in areas of Extreme Northern Luzon. “By tomorrow, the effects of the amihan will possibly intensify and affect the entire Northern Luzon area,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said.
