Fire affects 200 families in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Over 200 families were affected by the fire that ravaged a residential area in Tondo, Manila early Friday. According to the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department, the fire was first reported at around 1:09 a..m., quickly raised to first alarm by 1:18 a.m, second alarm by 1:24 a.m, third alarm by 1:31 a.m, and fourth alarm by 2 a.m. The fire was only declared under control about two hours later at 4:30 a.m. Authorities have yet to identify the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, the Manila Department of Social Welfare continues to provide aid to the families affected by the fire.
