Marcos launches first employment, entrepreneurship program

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday launched the country’s first "Trabaho at Negosyo" event, an initiative aimed at promoting both employment and entrepreneurship. In his speech during the launching at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Marcos said his administration was committed to strengthening livelihood programs for Filipinos. "We equip our people not only to survive, but to succeed in this changing world," Marcos said. "Through the advocacy of Go Negosyo, we promote a positive mindset towards business—not as a last resort, but as a strong complement to our collective role in nation-building," he added. The event, organized by Go Negosyo, brings together key public-private stakeholders to expand job opportunities for communities, support upskilling and reskilling for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and create a dynamic platform where job seekers can connect directly with businesses. Highlighting MSMEs as vital engines of inclusive growth and employment creation, the program features plenary learning sessions, a job fair, business mentoring sessions and partner booths.
