Sea of solidarity - Thousands rally in Sanaa in support of Iran and Lebanon amid regional escalation

"Thousands of people rallied in Sanaa on Friday to protest against the recent US-Israeli strikes on Iran, as well as in support of Lebanon amid escalating regional tensions. Footage shows participants waving Yemeni and Iranian flags, as well as images of the former Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. "Today, the capital Sanaa witnessed a human tide during the rally 'With Iran and Lebanon, We Celebrate the Day of Al-Furqan,' commemorating the Battle of Badr and reaffirming Yemen's full solidarity with the Iranian people," a Houthi-run news agency reported. Earlier, the Houthi-affiliated Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement mourning the Iranian Supreme Leader, saying his death will only strengthen Iran and its people's resilience and determination to defend the country's sovereignty, security, and stability. The US and Israel carried out strikes on Iran on Saturday morning. At the same time, Tehran announced retaliatory attacks targeting Israeli and US interests in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries. In a related development, the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was confirmed killed in a strike on Saturday, following multiple rounds of talks between US and Iranian officials."
