Iranian CG appreciates Pakistan’s diplomatic support

KARACHI: Appreciating Pakistan’s diplomatic support against aggression toward Iran, Iran’s Consul General in Karachi Akbar Eisa Zadeh said on Friday that Iran would never bow to the United States or Israel and would firmly defend its national sovereignty. Speaking to media representatives during a visit to the Iranian Consulate, Zadeh said Iran has the full legal and diplomatic right to defend its sovereignty. He accused the United States of pursuing negotiations through friendly countries while simultaneously deploying naval fleets in the region. The consul general said that the United States and Israel had carried out a unilateral attack on Iran in violation of international law, claiming that the aggression resulted in the martyrdom of many innocent civilians, including 168 children. Responding to a question, he said it was the second time Iran had faced a surprise attack, adding that Iran would continue the war until its objectives were achieved. He maintained that Iran reserves the right to target American and Israeli assets wherever they exist. He alleged that both the United States and Israel had targeted innocent civilians, and criticised the United Nations for remaining silent over the aggression. He also said Muslim countries were failing to fulfil their responsibilities at a critical time. “The enemy’s objective is to divide the Muslim world, but Muslim countries should demonstrate unity and solidarity,” he added. Replying to another question, he said the war had been ongoing for eight days and claimed that the United States and Israel had captured the media narrative. He accused the US of spreading negative propaganda by claiming that Iran had been destroyed, while public morale in Iran remained high and daily life continued as normal. He said it was unfortunate that Muslim countries were not united when unity was most needed. The consul general appreciated Pakistan for supporting Iran’s stance and condemning the aggression. He also thanked Pakistani religious scholars and people from different walks of life who had voiced support for Iran, saying rallies in Pakistan had boosted the morale of the Iranian people. When asked about reports of an attack on the Israeli parliament building, he said he had heard about the incident but did not have confirmation regarding the extent of the damage.
