Amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel-US, and tensions around Strait of Hormuz , the United States on Thursday allowed a 30-day waiver for India to purchase Russian Oil to meet its energy requirements. Following this, Scott Bessent, the US Treasury Secretary, has again claimed that the United States has given India the "permission" to purchase Russian oil. This is not the first time he made these comments.
