Iran's UN Ambassador Amir-Saeid Iravani has accused the United States of committing a war crime. He stated the sinking of the IRIS Dena frigate in international waters was an act of aggression. Iravani called for the UN Security Council to intervene against joint US and Israeli military campaigns targeting Iran.
