Jibshit hit - Health centre, homes destroyed in deadly Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon

"Residential buildings and health facilities in the southern Lebanese town of Jibshit have been damaged and destroyed, as Israel's military campaign against Hezbollah continues. Footage captured on Saturday shows bulldozers clearing rubble from destroyed structures, while civil defence and ambulance vehicles can be seen partially buried under debris. Rubble and bloodstains can also be seen. "This health centre belonging to the Islamic Health Authority serves as a rescue and emergency response centre, in addition to assisting bedridden patients who occasionally require transfer between hospitals," explained local Mohammad Fahas. "The family that was killed is among those who refused to evacuate, choosing to remain resilient and hold onto their land. The price was their blood," Fahas shared. Local media reported Saturday that “six citizens were martyred, including four from one family, as warplanes carried out an airstrike at dawn". The strike destroyed "dozens of shops, restaurants, butchers, the municipal centre, residential apartments and vehicles, and completely destroyed the Islamic Authority centre, along with a number of ambulances," the report added. Lebanon's Health Ministry reported Saturday that Israeli strikes since Monday dawn have killed 294 people and injured 1,023 others. In a statement, the Israeli military said it 'continues to deepen strikes against the terrorist Hezbollah in various areas of Lebanon'. The violence came after Hezbollah announced it was entering the war 'in revenge' for the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The group said it had launched operations, drawing Israeli retaliation targeting southern villages and Beirut's southern suburbs. The United States and Israel launched attacks against Iran on February 28, with Tehran announcing it was responding with strikes on Israel and US interests in the region, as reports emerged of explosions in several Gulf countries. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed killed in Saturday's strike. The confrontation follows several recent rounds of talks between US and Iranian officials. "
