"More than 30 people were injured in an explosion at a nightclub in Peru’s Trujillo province early on Saturday. Footage captured on Saturday shows the exterior of Dali nightclub where the incident occurred. The explosion happened while several people were enjoying a cumbia music performance. "Terrified, terrified. We all saw people there on the floor, just lying there. And we didn't know what to do, whether to help or not," recounted Gerson Morales, who was transported to the Regional Hospital with lacerations. Another reveller said she did not feel the impact and only realised what had happened when she left the nightclub. "When I went outside, I finally saw the pool of blood on the floor from the bleeding I had," she said. The girl’s mother said her daughter had claimed she was going to a birthday party, but instead went to the nightclub without informing her. "This has been a lesson for her. I recently learned that nightclubs, all nightclubs, are being extorted, so I recommend parents be very careful," she said. According to Gerardo Florian, Regional Health Manager, the explosive device left at least 34 people injured. Of these, 16 were treated at Belen Hospital in Trujillo, and five have been discharged. Another 18 patients were taken to the Regional Hospital, three of whom are in a serious condition. He also said that four patients will undergo surgery due to the severity of their injuries. According to the Emergency Operations Centre (COER), at least three of the injured are minors."
