Vico Sotto pays tribute to contributions, leadership of Filipinas on Women’s Month

MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto called on residents to recognize the contributions and leadership of women as the country observes National Women’s Month, in a video greeting shared by the Pasig Public Information Office on Saturday. Sotto highlighted the national theme “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas,” which underscored the role of women in shaping the country’s identity. He also stressed the importance of continuing to acknowledge women’s capabilities and contributions across different sectors of society. “Happy National Women’s Month Pasigueños! Under this year’s national theme of Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas, we recognize and we remember the role of women’s leadership in our national identity,” Sotto said. Sotto said the city government was implementing policies aimed at protecting women and ensuring their participation in governance, including the Safe Spaces Ordinance and representation in local special bodies where women have a voice in policymaking. “Pasigueños, let us continue to recognize the contributions and capabilities of women in various fields and in our society,” he added.
