2 policemen, civilians nabbed in Taguig drug bust

MANILA, Philippines -- Two policemen and several civilians were arrested in a buy-bust operation over the weekend in Taguig City. In a statement on Sunday, the Taguig City Police Station (TCPS) said the operation, carried out on Saturday with the help of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), led to the arrest of the unidentified suspects and the recovery of around 100 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P680,000, along with police-issued firearms, cellular phones, and identification cards. Taguig City condemned the involvement of its police personnel, reiterating that it maintained zero tolerance for illegal drugs and any form of misconduct in law enforcement.
