Saudi Arabia thwarted an attempt to attack the Diplomatic Quarter area in the capital Riyadh, the defense ministry announced on Sunday.The Kingdom “foiled an attempt to target the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh with a drone, with no material damage or civilian injuries resulting from the downing of the drone,” the ministry said on X.The announcement came as the ministry announced it intercepted and destroyed several drones that attempted to target the Kingdom with at least eight drones being intercepted and destroyed after entering the airspace.“Attempted attacks with three drones were thwarted after their shootdown in the city of Riyadh,” the ministry announced on Sunday, adding that several drones destroyed east of Riyadh.Additionally, the defense ministry added that a drone heading toward the Shaybah field was intercepted and destroyed in the Empty Quarter.Read more:
