Pakistan-based IT co lands $1.23mn contract with Australian utility

Pakistan-based IT company, Itanz Technologies Limited , has secured an international contract worth AU$1.75 million (USD 1.23 million) with Icon Water Limited, the largest water utility in the Australian Capital Territory. The company disclosed the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday. “We are pleased to inform you that your company has entered a new contract with the largest water utility in the Australian Capital Territory, ‘Icon Water Limited’, to complete their integration architecture deployment. “The contract is for a tenure of 5 years with a total worth of AU$ 1.75 million,” read the notice. Icon Water Limited is a water and wastewater public utility owned by the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). The company provides drinking water and wastewater services to the ACT. Icon Water is also a 50% owner of ActewAGL, a multi-utility provider of electricity and gas services in the ACT and south-east New South Wales. Meanwhile, Itanz Technologies Limited was incorporated in Pakistan as a public limited company in 1990. The company was formerly known as Zahur Cotton Mills Limited. In March 2025, the Lahore High Court approved the merger of the company and ITANZ Technology Private Limited (ITPL) with effect from October 01, 2023. After the merger, the company’s principal business activity included software development, installation and implementation, as well as other IT-related supplies and services. The company also provides IT consultancy services.
