At least nine people were injured after a car was driven onto a pavement in Kowloon Bay on Monday afternoon. Police were alerted to the accident on Lam Hing Street near Metro Centre II at around 12.40pm. The injured persons – eight pedestrians and a car passenger – were conscious when taken to United Christian and Queen Elizabeth hospitals. The driver of the car, who is in his 70s, was not injured and passed a breathalyser test. Photos taken at the scene showed injured persons lying on the middle of the road and on the pavement, railings wrecked and a tree knocked down. Edited by Tony Sabine
