The Public Prosecution in the Kingdom of Bahrain has ordered the detention of several suspects pending investigation over accusations of promoting and glorifying hostile terrorist acts targeting the kingdom. According to officials, the case began after the Cybercrime Directorate submitted several reports to the prosecution. The reports indicated that a number of social media accounts had been monitored for repeatedly publishing and sharing video clips that glorified, promoted, and encouraged hostile terrorist acts against Bahrain. Authorities said these acts were linked to the Iranian aggression against the kingdom. Investigations also revealed that the accounts circulated content inciting unrest and encouraging actions that could undermine internal security and stability in the country. Upon receiving the reports, the Public Prosecution immediately launched an investigation. The suspects were questioned and confronted with the illegal content allegedly published through their social media accounts. Authorities also examined the electronic devices used to manage those accounts and presented the findings of the investigations during interrogations.
