Ecuador deploys 75,000 soldiers to crime-ridden provinces under nightly curfew

Ecuadorian officials say they have deployed 75,000 soldiers to four crime-ridden provinces, where the government is implementing a nightly curfew under which people are banned from leaving their homes from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Officials said Monday that 253 people were arrested for violating the curfew, which started Sunday night and is expected to last for two weeks
