In a first for May Pen Hospital (MPH), a multidisciplinary team has saved the life of a patient who arrived with a stab wound to the heart – an achievement the hospital describes as a milestone in its expanding ability to manage complex trauma. Dr Natoya Hall-Okori, acting consultant in the Accident and Emergency Department, said the severity of the case was clear within minutes.
