SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – A 44-year-old man died while spearfishing in the waters off Botolan town, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) confirmed on Monday. The victim was identified as Noli Ferrer, a fisherman and resident of Barangay Binoclutan in the said town. Based on reports, lifeguards and beachgoers spotted Ferrer waving for help while spearfishing on Sunday, indicating he was in distress. The PCG substation in Botolan received a report about the incident from a resort owner and deployed its response team to assist.
