MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Wednesday that his decision to exercise emergency powers to suspend or reduce excise taxes on oil products will depend on trends in oil prices. The Senate and House of Representatives have both approved measures that would give Marcos the authority to cut or suspend the imposition of excise taxes on petroleum products to cushion the impact of rising fuel prices amid the war in the Middle East.
