"Missile fragments struck multiple locations in the central Israeli city of Ramat Gan on Wednesday following a barrage launched from Iran, killing at least two people and injuring several others. Footage shows firefighters extinguishing a fire burning inside a covered parking area, with debris scattered around and visible structural damage to the building. Up to eight impact sites were reported across the city. A man and a woman in their 70s were found dead in an apartment on the fourth floor of a residential building, according to emergency services. Medics said the victims likely did not reach a protected space in time. Several other people were reported to have sustained injuries. The US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region. The conflict soon widened to Israel and Hezbollah trading strikes across the border with Lebanon. The escalating conflict has sent global energy prices soaring and led to the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which handles 20 per cent of global oil traffic."
