KRX issues buy-side sidecar for KOSPI on sharp surge

Korea's main bourse operator on Wednesday issued a buy-side sidecar for the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI), temporarily halting trading on the market after a sharp rise. Program trading for KOSPI was suspended for five minutes at 2:34 p.m., according to the Korea Exchange (KRX). A buy-side sidecar is triggered when the KOSPI 200 Futures index increases 5 percent or more for at least one minute. A buy-side sidecar was previously issued on March 10.
