Lyari Transformation Project: Transparency, quality must be ensured: Nasir Shah

KARACHI: A high-level meeting of the Lyari Transformation Project was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Sindh Syed Nasir Hussain Shah. The meeting was attended by the Additional Secretary Local Government, Project Director, senior officials of relevant departments, and technical experts. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on resolving long-standing issues of Lyari, improving urban infrastructure, and ensuring the provision of basic facilities to the public. The minister was briefed that the Lyari Transformation Project, with an estimated cost of approximately PKR 5 billion, will be implemented in phases to align the area with modern urban standards. Speaking on the occasion, Nasir Hussain Shah stated that this project has the potential to transform the destiny of Lyari’s residents, and the Government of Sindh is committed to its timely and high-quality completion. He informed that a comprehensive master plan has been prepared through National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), covering water supply, improvement of the sewerage system, gas availability, rehabilitation of storm-water drains, and reconstruction of streets and roads.
