Unexpected opportunities from K-pop

My name is Trieu Vy, and I am from Vietnam. Like many young people, I first learned about K-pop through the songs and impressive performances of Korean idol groups. At first, it was simply a hobby I enjoyed after studying, a way to relax and have fun. However, as time passed, this small interest gradually became something much more meaningful and important in my life. While watching idol shows, interviews and other types of content, I grew curious about Korean language and culture. I wanted to understand what the idols were saying without relying on subtitles, and I also wanted to know the deeper meaning behind the lyrics of the songs that I loved so much. Because of this curiosity, I decided to start learning Korean. In the beginning, my learning was simple and informal. I watched videos, listened to songs and tried to pick up words and expressions from variety shows. Later, I realized that if I truly wanted to understand the language, I needed to study it more seriously and systematically.
